Dog # 65 and Every Day in May #124 draw something yellow

This started as a drawing on copper foil which was then cut out with an exacto knife, soldered and glass pieces shaped into a small box. I'm always looking for a perfect sky piece of glass for the background.  Tonught as the sun went down it was pure golden yellow an reminded me of this box.

Dog # 63 and Every Day in May #120, 121 and 122

Challenge # 120 draw a flashlight and # 122 Shade (or shadows) part of the subject.
Ok I was a little lazy to combine the two : )
# 121 Coins, I thought I would take a very close look at a quarter, magnified the edge of the quarter and saw was very dinged and dented and also the Copper part was uneven

Dog #43 of 100 Dogs and Every Day in May # 107 Draw how you get your news.

Had to make up the rear view of a brindle greyhound (?) I liked the shape of its ears. Would really more likely be a cats sillouete in the way. The real dog is at my feet and the cat on my lap interfering with typing!

Took some more reference pictures of dogs that visit the Art Glass Guild's Patio Sale and sold some glass!  Always nice to sell your newest work!

Dog #42 of 100 Dogs and Every Day in May # 106 something sour

This one was a little tricky. Found a dog picture that had a questioning look like "it's not a ball, its a lemon" Yes you do have to streach your imagination!

Dog sketches in Watercolor

These 2 dogs visited the Art Glass Guild Patio Sale and Show. Lots of mixed breed rescued dogs. I wish I had taken the photos before I added the patio background, 2nd dogs ears need some refining, well they could both use more work, I loose the freshness when I  overwork. By the time I've done 100 I may get it down!!

100 dogs

Found some old reference photos of Dogs and after seeing Roz's daily dots, drawings of her dog for I think 5 years. http://www.rozworks.com/dog.html  I was inspired to do 100 hands, horses and cats.  She wondered when I would do 100 dogs!  Now that I've found the puppy pics and pictures of the dogs that visited  The Art Glass Guilds Patio Sale http://www.facebook.com/lyn.feudner  I'm going to start!  These first 2 are on buckling paper after mowing grass too long so I'll have lots of room for improvment... its a start....

It took a long time to get back to them but I have over 100 cat sketches. Most very quick often late at night. The first 3 are fused glass, one wire cat face, the rest pen.

Cactus Tuesday

5" x 7" watercolor on Winsor Newton hot press in my new fold up sketchbook. It took all four of these to get one that had a more loose feel to it... may have to do with becoming familiar with the subject.

5" x 7" Watercolor on Winsor Newton hot press I made a new fold up sketch book to experiment with the hot press paper.

Watercolor in 11" x 14" Raffine Sketch book 100 lb.paper

Quick soft graphite sketch on packaging paper.

Cactus Monday

When Margaret Storer-Rochehttp://waterblossoms.blogspot.com/2008/06/queen-of-night.html Posted her Queen of the Night Blooming Cereus. I knew why I had not seen the bloom on the cactus I drew last week! The prevoius week I drew the cati from memory. When I drove by it must have been early AM or late in the evening. So here is the bud I'm happy I got to see the Bloom on Margaret's post!

EMD # Draw an Eye

This is Dazzel's eye, watercolor on Arches 140. I took a photo at sunset, when you take a great photo its hard to be happy with a painting of it. I don't feel its complete, but the colors in the eye are close to correct. He is a 27 year old Arabian stallion doing well for his age.

Cactus Monday

Painted these cati from memory last week. Went back to get some pictures, there was one flower that had not bloomed. I was checking it daily so I could get a good look at the bloom. It must have bloomed when the 105' temp and wind wilted it. ?Such a graceful looking bud I bet the flower is spectactular, I'll have to wait till next year!
