Figure drawing with Helen Wilson canceled tonight. Because its a night class the lighting for some of the poses is just hightlights. I've tried some different gold materials to capture the highlights

Guess what! Linda Doll, painter, digital photographer, graphic artist, instructor and juror of art contests. Can't be the demo artist for the Ramona Art Guild http://www.ramonaartguild.org/ tomorrow so they have asked me to demo WIREWORK!! This should be interesting! Looking back at some of my first wire sculpture , I've found some that would make a cool slideshow:
I thought it would be good practice to draw one hundred hands! Another thought was to buy a large book at a thrift store, gesso the pages to use as a sketchbook for acrylics or oil sketches. The pages were too thin to have the gessoed pages work. So I decided to go ahead and sketch the hands in the book! It has been good practice, I made my left hand draw my right a few time as well (its showing improvement) I'm not comfortable defacing the book-copyright issues with the author etc. Interesting where the images in the book take you. It has been fun!
This is the book that the 100 hands started in, when I realized that they were all left hands I tried a few with my left hand drawing my right. Amazing how fast lefty wore out!

The answer to the question is practice! Don't worry if your results are not wonderful. Keep at it! This series of drawings was done last night in front of the TV. I've never watched Dancing With the Stars before. My mother-in-law was looking forward to the new season. I had the urge to sketch, so began! I think the fellow in the first one came out best. It was fun to try to do them quickly! Since most of my figure work is done with nude models it was interesting to try to get the clothing in motion. I have a series of little dancers in mind for a glass project so it was good practice.
I produce art of some type on a daily basis. Fused Glass is my most recent intrest, I create unique fused glass jewelry and experiment with larger fused work.
I hope my appreciation of the beauty and diversity in nature is expressed in my art. I continue to work on my drawing, metal and painting skills.
