Dancing With the Stars EDM Question "How do you draw people?"

The answer to the question is practice! Don't worry if your results are not wonderful. Keep at it!
This series of drawings was done last night in front of the TV. I've never watched Dancing With the Stars before. My mother-in-law was looking forward to the new season. I had the urge to sketch, so began! I think the fellow in the first one came out best. It was fun to try to do them quickly! Since most of my figure work is done with nude models it was interesting to try to get the clothing in motion. I have a series of little dancers in mind for a glass project so it was good practice.

Wow...please tell me you have Tivo and were able to pause the TV. These sketches are amazing. You've gotten the proportions so well! Love them all, but especially the bottom one.

Love all of these - especially the woman in the last one. What a great idea to sketch from the TV program...will have to check the schedule.

Lovely movement in these sketches. I also love what you are doing with glass. I have made glass beads in the past with a wonderful "glass" man who lives on Kangaroo Island, he is a master in several aspects of glass and I love what he does.
Thanks for your comment .

What fun your drawings are - how do you work so quickly with their leaning, spiralling, leaping, the affectation, the sheer terror, and so on! I find some aspects of ballroom dancing very funny to watch. The TV show called 'So you can dance' or something like that has more variety and I really like that one.

Really neat! Did hearing the music influence your ability to capture the movement so well?

Thanks Maggie,
Yes, whatever music I have on I try to have influence my line. I'll sometimes just doodle in time to the music.
