Sometimes I draw with wire. This one is 6 x 8 Inches. They change constantly depending on the lighting and direction of view. I find myself bending just a bit more...... When this one was put away she had a smaller chin and higher hair. They animate themselves, wire is fun to work with. It is a nice alternative to the tiny glasswork. They do make me happy.

I love wire art - and will go anywhere to see some of the Calder pieces. A new Calder exhibit is opening this month in New york City and I can't wait to see what they include. Great work! I'm in awe.
Thanks Shirley,
I love wire art too. I heard Calder would travel to an exhibit with his wire and create them on site! I understand why he might do this. With only a dozen or so on display they become unmanageable. They tangle up and become one large mess! I found I had to bag each one so this would not happen. Enjoy the New York show. I saw a film or video of an early animated circus that he did, its wonderful.

This looks like a lot of fun: especially the part about multiple viewpoints. Do you work from the inside outward? Oh - I love the dancer (in and out of fused glass) pendant. Will you make more?
Really cool. I do wire insects sometimes with my students, but they are 3D, this is more like drawing. I like it!
I love this! looks like it's so much fun to do... and have you placed any on a tree branch in the garden?
My daughter did a wire art assignment when she was about 6. It was a "happy dog." Loved it. Still have it framed someplace, I think. (She's in her mid 20's now. Hmmm, maybe she took it with her.)
This is really cool.
